The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is offered with the following engine options:

  • 2.7L Turbo Engine: This engine is standard on the LT and RST, and generates 310 hp and 348 lb-ft of torque.
  • 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 Engine: Standard on LT Trail Boss, LTZ, and High Country, this powerful V8 produces 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque.
  • 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 Engine: Available for select trims, this engine boosts output to 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque.

The 2.7L and 5.3L engines come with an 8-speed automatic transmission, while the 6.2L is paired with a 10-speed automatic.


The 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500’s engines include Auto Stop/Start technology for improved fuel economy. Properly equipped, the Silverado 1500 can earn up to 17 mpg city/23 mpg highway. Dynamic or Active Fuel Management is also standard and allows each engine to turn off half its cylinders under light workloads for higher efficiency. What’s more, the 5.3L engine is FlexFuel capable, meaning it can run on gasoline or gasoline-ethanol blends of up to 85% ethanol.
